Matters Arising
David Hazell has offered to start work on the grounds on Saturday 3rd May. David and Jo will visit the grounds to decide what is to be done prior to contacting the volunteer ‘hit squad’
Miss Henderson advised that the School Quiz final is to take place on the afternoon of Saturday 17th May at Strathpeffer Pavilion. The Black Isle Bike Ride also takes place on that afternoon and the Free Church has provided parking for this event. It was decided that the school fete would still go ahead on that date but will take place in the morning as a courtesy to the other planned events. Graeme advised he had tentatively booked the playing field car park to ensure there were sufficient parking spaces for fete visitors and Black Isle Bike Race participants.
Alan McDiarmid advised that the bike stands in Rose Street were available for use by the school. He advised that life station boat crew members have replaced a number of the log seats in the playground. The old ones will be removed and may be used as firewood.
Helen Barton advised she had contacted Ian Mackenzie to ask him to attend the next Parent Council meeting as a co-opted member of the Community Council.

School Fete Up-date
The school fete sub-committee provided an up-date on progress made. Two meetings of this group have taken place since the last full Parent Council Meeting. A tentative list of stalls and activities has been prepared and volunteers are being contacted to see if they can man stalls. A number of donations have already been received from local businesses and parents for the stalls, raffle and silent auction. Gail Hrycenko is to provide 2 ponies for childrens’ rides and a bouncy castle has been booked for the fete. The sub-committee has been in touch with the Co-op who has a smoothie cycle and it is anticipated the Co-op will provide this. Arrangements are being made with the school with regard to provision of cash floats for the stalls. Plastic bags are required and access to the school after school hours for during the week leading up the day of the fete to allow preparatory work to be carried out.
Helen acknowledged the efforts of the sub-committee to-date, Graeme Lyon, Susannah Leslie and Jo Hazell and thanked them for their hard work.
Various Parent Council members agreed to contact volunteers to help out at the fete and local businesses for donations.
Head Teacher’s Report
Miss Henderson advised that the Care Commission Report highly commended
the School Nursery. The point of note was that the radiator in the cloakroom be covered to prevent scalding. Miss Henderson has already been in touch with the Highland Council in this respect and will chase up again. The Nursery is to be congratulated for this good report.
It was also noted that congratulations be passed on to the children who have won a number of prizes for the school this year in badminton, cross-country running, quiz competitions and singing.
