paintathon
NORTH KESSOCK AMENITIES ASSOCIATION
PAINTATHON Thursday 12th June 2008
Report
On Thursday, 12th June 2008, North Kessock Amenities and friends indulged themselves in a "paint-fest", and gave the outside walls of the hall a much needed "lick of paint"
We were all enthusiastic amateurs, and at times it looked like some of us had been having a paint-ball fight ! We all looked as if we were suffering from the White Plague !!
Unfortunately, time, paint and energy ran out before we could paint the "back-side" of the hall. So that will have to wait till another day.
What we have done looks good and fairly brightens up the whole place.
Lots of thanks go, not only to committee members - Joan Paterson, Keith Leech, Angus McLean, and John Tuach, but also to good friends George Bertram, Bob and Marie Miller,
Kate Lindsay, and May Leech, who all did a tremendous amount of work. And lastly, but by no means least, to Joan McLennan who not only painted away like a professional, but who also brought along Les and Julie, and some scaffolding (thanks for that Donald) Thanks Les, thanks Julie.
Unfortunately one or two of the committee couldn't be there due to work commitments
( Elizabeth, and Janice), or health issues ( Margaret and Seoras), but we could feel their good wishes spurring us on )
The day was a bit of fun, and I think we were a great team. Thanks to everyone.
For the technically minded -
We used 95 litres of Wickes trade masonry paint (magnolia).
We hired Brandon scaffolding.
We used rollers and brushes ( lots )
We ate lots of sandwiches ( made by Joan P.)
The total cost was just over £300.
