Sen. Cit. Party 2007
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Basically, the party was a success, but there were some difficulties, and some mistakes.
One main difficulty was gauging the numbers to cater for.
Word was that often people turn up on the night without having put in a reply.
As it turned out, this did not happen. In fact 10 people who said they were coming, did not turn up.
The numbers were -
Indicated yes, by 2nd Dec. 51
+ 18 late replies by 14th Dec 69
- 2 call-offs 67
Actual number on night 58
There were also 22 helpers plus Joan and 4 staff, giving a total number of 85
Another difficulty was deciding how much drink to order from the Spar (sale or return)
Figures were extrapolated from the previous year's order, but this had included some which was carried over to the Burns supper. As we were not going to have a Burns Supper, this complicated matters.
The actual figures (approx) were as shown on a separate sheet.
However, the food was excellent, the carols and "Santa" raffle were appreciated, Frankie Fraser's music was enjoyed,
and most folk seemed to enjoy themselves.
